Horsebarn Hill from the back

Winter is on the University of Connecticut Campus on the last day of 2000. This is the back side of Horsebarn Hill which was an area of controversy because of the posibility of a chemical research facility being placed on the top of this landmark of the University.

Winter photo of the Prudence Crandall Museum

In the little town of Canterbury in the eastern part of Connecticut in 1834 Prudence Crandall ran a school for African American Women in this building. The school was closed after a year because of the pressure from the townspeople. The State of Connecticut even passed a law against the existance of the school Today it is a museum and historical site that is one of the stops in Connecticut's areas dedicated to the underground railroad.

Red and White mums in the back yard along the stone wall

Stone walls are part of New England. The mums are plentiful in the fall and they decorated this wall with color.

Waterfall in Springfield Vermont frozen from the winter cold

Waterfalls are always fascinating but this one is Springfield Vermont takes on a whole different appearance in the cold. The water as it splashes has created a mass of ice that freezes the movement of the waterfall for the people who drive down main street to see.
