Welcome to place where Tony Mason and his music is the subject. Tony has come out of musical retirement and this page started construction on June 18, 2003. It went dorment again for a couple of years but is again being revised in the late winter of 2010. The picture is very recent and was done at home with Teddy's help. New promo kits are almost ready and I am trying to get out at least once a week to an open mic or other local venue to keep my chops up.

In digging through some history I found some old posters from performances in the past. Here is a composite of 4 of them.

Hi, I am Tony Mason-Sherwood. I have performed around New England for many years under the name Tony Mason. I recently discovered that there are a couple of other Tony Mason's who are musicians. If this confuses you, it confuses me too. The world is getting smaller and we are finding out more about what is here all the time. For this reason I am including a picture of myself on this page that should help narrow the field.

In the beginning I was a traditional folk musician performing the music of the 1960s with an eye on the political and social issues of the time. Through my friends and my listening I got involved with blues and found myself drawn to the style of music more and more over time. I tried an electric guitar and found that it offered me new options and over time added more and more electronics to my solo performance. I have a good time with the fullness of the sound of all the instruments added to the guitar. It is a never ending journey because there are always new things to try and experiment doing. I am also noticing that my perspective is different as I grow and change everything reveals new options.
