This was taken using the Mavica FD91 and pushing the EV to plus 1.5. This has the effect of increasing the amplification on the CCD which adds noise but also adds light to dark images. The combination of the color of the sky and the lights from the candles made the image and exploration of color for me. The participants have just returned from walking around a lake that is behind them carrying candles. The vigil was held as a memorial of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Survivors of the bombings spoke to participants about their personal experiences.
